The Palazzo Strozzi is much more than great exhibitions! The imposing doors of the Palazzo are open from 9am until 8pm year-‘round – even when there isn’t an exhibition open. In addition to its new Centre for Contemporary Culture Strozzina (CCCS), it also has a new café, a permanent exhibition on the history of the Palazzo Strozzi, wireless internet, courtyard seating and a programme of concerts, lectures and events all year-‘round. The Palazzo Strozzi is family friendly! Every exhibition at the Palazzo Strozzi is designed to provide a wide variety of activities for the whole family. There are special labels for children, interactive experiences, workshops and special booklets – all in Italian and in English.

The Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi aims to revitalise the Palazzo with a wide variety of activities including exhibitions, events, lectures and programmes designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of users of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Its mottos non solo mostre (not only exhibitions) and think global, act local mean that the foundation’s mission is to become a catalyst for culture and create a platform for experimentation, debate and discussion, thus offering a rich and varied range of international cultural activities in which exhibitions are just one, important part. With the help of its Friends, we hope the Palazzo Strozzi will once again become a much-loved cultural piazza at the heart of Florence, a place that to come back to again and again.

The Centre offers a full programme of lectures and workshops, plus ongoing partnerships with curators and cultural associations both on a national and international level.
The Palazzo Strozzi is visitor-centred, and one of the things that makes the Palazzo Strozzi experience special is its attention to ‘visible listening’ – the recognition that culture is made of many voices – and the importance of making different voices visible. Letting other points of view have their place in the exhibition also means that the visitor’s voice can be heard – and at the Palazzo Strozzi, the visitor comes first.
There are many ways you can support the Palazzo Strozzi and its programme! Depending on how much you wish to contribute as a donation, you can become a friend for €49/year, or you can become a Supporter for € 1000/year.
